Ann’s Herbals

So I had the great opportunity to work with Ann’s Herbals lately and I’m glad I did.  She runs a store through etsy (the most addicting site in the universe) and makes all of her products herself.  I love helping small businesses and love good for you products.  The customer service was great (another reason to buy from small businesses) and I received my products very quickly!

Here’s what I got:

All – Natural Whipped Orange Medley Body Butter with Organic Shea Butter Organic Coconut Oil and Vitamin E

I absolutely love body butters because  a little really does go a long way.  When I first held the container I thought she had just sent me an empty container because it was so light!  I opened it and was greeted with a TON of product and this really amazing orange scent.  The scent was very light but strong at the same time.  It was rather perfect!  I always use body butters after showers so later that night I got to use it.  The product is really light and goes on really well the only thing I didn’t like about it was that my skin was extremely oily after I used it, and I normally don’t see that with body butters (I might be crazy though).  Other than that I really enjoy this product because it smells so great!

Mocha Latte All Natural Homemade Lip Balm with Organic Cocoa Butter, Coffee Butter, Organic Sunflower Oil Vitamin E Synthetic Free

So anyone that personally knows me knows that I am ADDICTED to lip balms, seriously if I don’t have one I start to freak out and I apply them at least 5 times in an hour (probably more).  I have hundreds of lip balms in my stock pile so I was soooo excited that she sent one!!  The Mocha Latte is now officially my favorite lip balm I own, I’m going to be upset when I use it all.  It goes on so smooth and tastes so great.  If you don’t like this product you are seriously crazy and don’t appreciate a great lip balm!

Handmade Vegan Soap

I don’t remember the scent I received but it was amazing.  It made the entire box smell like heaven and scents up my entire bathroom.  I used this product while taking a bath and absolutely fell in love.  I normally hate bar soap but this one was different.  It did not get slippery to where you couldn’t hold it and the smell just speaks for itself!

Overall, I love these products and super highly recommend shopping at this great small business.  You get the greatest customer service and really great products!!

Barts Cookies

header-top-bartscookies-new-look

So I recently had the opportunity to review a different type of product, COOKIES!  I’m a sucker for sweets so getting the opportunity to review cookies was a pretty exciting thing.  I reviewed Barts “World Famous” chocolate chip cookies and I also got to review the chocolate chip peanut butter cookies.  Putting the words “Worlds Best” in front of any product puts you up for really strict reviews, but these cookies are pretty delicious.

They arrived in my mailbox this afternoon and I was expecting them to not be very fresh, but they were.  I felt as if I had just eaten a cookie right out of the oven they were that fresh.  These cookies aren’t your typical cookie shape, their little (maybe an inch and a half) round cookie rounds, and these little things pack a bunch of flavor.

These cookies are absolutely delicious and I wish I had more of them!!

Bee Alive Skincare

78483f0d-e443-4f1e-875d-a6a4355ea99f

I wrote an email to this company two weeks ago asking if I could receive a few samples and review their products for you guys, and I am so glad I did.

First off, Bee Alive is a company that has been around since 1984, and is helping bring people that best skincare NATURALLY.  They use Royal Jelly in every product and promise that the Royal Jelly is never freeze dried and always as close to nature as you can get.  The products are a little on the pricey side, but extremely worth it.  You’re actually paying for good things to put on your skin and not the nasty chemicals in the other stuff.

Here’s what they sent me:
NOT SAMPLES, FULL SIZE.  They are too generous and amazing.

Honey Cleanser 6oz $26.95

This cleanser is a foaming one and is extremely light feeling.  I normally don’t like foaming cleansers but this one was different, because it worked.  I tested it in how well it takes off makeup, and after washing it my makeup was completely gone and my face felt extremely refreshed.  This product does have a scent of honey and it’s a little strong, but it’s not too strong that it’s bad and it honestly doesn’t smell awful!  I really love this cleanser and after about 4 times of using it I’ve seen a pretty good results in my T zone area.  Another great thing about it is that it’s recommend for all skin types.  I have horribly sensitive skin so I’m afraid to put anything on my skin, but this didn’t dry me out or irritate my skin at all.

Rehydrating Facial Tonic | Refreshing Facial Mist  3.25oz $24.05

This facial mist is AWESOME.  I’m addicted to toners because I just love how refreshing they feel, and this one is fabulous.  It sprays out and is really cooling on the face, I enjoyed the feeling so much I sat around and sprayed myself for a few minutes.  It once again has the same scent as the cleanser, but it does smell rather nice after awhile, you kind of have to get used to it.  If you’re not familiar with toners they are used to put back the good things your cleansers took out, and their a very vital part of a skin regime that mostly get overlooked!  This toner might be my new favorite because I know that it’s not anything I don’t want on my face.  You can just smell and feel how natural it is.  It also has witch hazel in it to cover up redness, and it really does.

Honey Masque 2oz $42.50

This is the most expensive item I received, and I’m so happy I got it.  As the name says it’s a honey masque and just a warning it’s extremely sticky at first.  I would not get this product on your hair because it would be a nightmare to get it out.  After the product is on the face for a few minutes it starts to dry and is no longer sticky.  It also comes off shockingly easy (because all face masques are nightmares coming off) and didn’t leave a mess in my sink at all.  This product claims to brighten the skin instantly, AND IT DOES.  My skin looked FLAWLESS.  I’m truly addicted to this face masque!

Delicate Royal Jelly Créme  .8oz $37.50

So with extremely dry skin I put moisturizers through a pretty hard test, and making my skin soft is no easy task.  This product comes out of the pump rather thick and creamy, it’s somewhat in the middle.  It again has the same scent but by this step you’ve become used to it.  It instantly makes the skin feel soft to the touch and very silky.  After a few days my skin was remarkably 100x softer.  This product passes the sensitive/dry skin test!  (Not many things do).

All in all, I’m in love.  I did a lot of researching to find this company and I’m so glad I did.  The customer service is awesome and super friendly, they really do want to make sure you’re taken care of.  I was e-mail almost instantly and every time I email them they seem so happy.  They even replied to my Facebook wall post!  This company really believes in their products and it shows!  They have so many other types of products on the site, and I can only imagine that they work as great as these ones!

I LOVE THESE PRODUCTS SO MUCH THAT I TOTALLY WOULD BE OKAY WITH THEM SENDING ME STUFF FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!

I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEIR PRODUCTS!!!

Disney World Update!

So if you haven’t already, I would recommend reading my initial post about the Disney World planning!
https://theglamorouscollegelife.wordpress.com/2013/03/14/walt-disney-world-trip/

So Josh and I finally got to see each other and sit down and actually talk about this trip, and here are a few updates!!
By the way, the more I think about this trip, the more I really really get excited about it!

Traveling to and From (+ Hotel):

I really truly hate long car rides especially the 12 hour one to Disney, but driving is a way cheaper alternative than airplanes.  We decided that we may drive (depending on gas prices).  But I found a really great website:
http://www.southwestvacations.com/
This website is run by Southwest Airlines and is a great alternative to booking things separately.  I was researching dates in October (since January dates aren’t available yet) , and since October is considered an off season for Disney (prices are WAY cheaper).
It’s one big package that includes both of our flights (to and from) and our hotel room (at Disney), separate these would be way over $2000 and that’s our absolute MAX budget, so this is impossible.  Through this website the total would be a little over $1000 (prices can change due to it not being our ACTUAL date).  This is really great because just the plane by itself is $1000 then the hotel is around $1000.
So already a $1000 savings!!!!

Park Tickets:

Well sadly we’ve decided that we can only afford to do just Disney World (which is fine, more time with Cinderella), and that Universal just isn’t going to work right now.  But I’ve been looking at ticket prices are we’re officially not even going to consider booking our tickets through Disney directly.  I found sites that I can money with.  Our biggest hope right now is that some fabulous military family members will buy our tickets for us (us pay, duh) so we can get the military rate.  Disney World’s military program says right on the website that you can buy them for friends and family.  The only issue right now is that the deal ends before we’re going, so we’re praying that they do the program again when we’re actually going.  Right now the 4-day (Park Hopper) ticket is $156.  Yeah, that’s like $300 cheaper already.  So we’d only be paying around $300 for our tickets rather than like $600.
So already a $600 savings!!!!

If this plan doesn’t work I found a website that offers discount tickets
http://www.undercovertourist.com/
This website is approved by Disney and has tons of GREAT reviews so you don’t have to worry about it being a scam.  Here we can only save about $40 each, but hey, $40 is $40.
So here it’s only a $80 savings!!!!

Eating at Disney:

So everyone knows Disney has a dining plan, but for us this dining plan is a complete waste of money.  Josh never eats breakfast and sometimes doesn’t eat lunch, so buying him a dining plan would completely be a waste.  I on the other hand eat three square meals a day, so a dining plan for me wouldn’t be a bad idea.  But Disney requires that everyone in your party has a dining plan, so we’re going without one!  I found a website that outlines the cheapest places to eat in the parks so we’ll be going off these!!
http://www.mousesavers.com/walt-disney-world-vacation-discounts-and-deals/disney-world-meal-snack-drink-discounts-coupons/
So we’ll probably save a good amount here!!!!

Character Dinners?!

As much as I truly would love eating with my favorite characters, it’s way expensive.  So you know what?  I’m just gonna stalk them all in the park.  Seems logical, right?
Character Dinners are way expensive, and stalking seems like a much cheaper alternative!

So as of know this is our “unofficial” plan.  As we get closer to our booking date (I see this being around November at the latest) we’ll have a much more official price list and everything else.  Like I said before, I’m going to share all prices with you so that you can also save as much as you can on a Disney vacation!
